Heather Chamberlain - Piano

About Me

Heather studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Alexander Kelly (piano), Georgina Dobree (clarinet) and Wilfrid Parry (chamber music). She has enjoyed a varied career as an instrumental teacher, class music teacher, chamber music coach, soloist, accompanist, freelance organist and director of music at a number of churches.

She has appeared in numerous recitals, mainly as an accompanist, in London and the Home Counties, and has participated in several interesting projects with Belinda Yates. These have included the launch of the Shakespeare Collection and the celebrations marking the 400th anniversary of both Edmund Waller in Beaconsfield and of John Milton at Kings Place, London. Belinda and Heather have made several CDs together, comprising a wide variety of styles and in particular, English Song. Since the end of 2009 Heather has been enjoying her collaboration with Belinda and Lance Pierson as part of ‘In Voice And Verse’.

For several years she has been privileged to sing with the Clerkes of Old Sarum who deputise for cathedral choirs around the UK during their vacations.

Heather greatly enjoys working with young people with whom she has co-ordinated many musical events in aid of charitable organisations in schools and churches.
